We can confirm that YMa is in its very final stages of development and hence, the aim is to open in the first half of 2023, however, we have yet to set a date. The name YMa was inspired by discussions held with members of the local community. Acknowledging the term ‘YM’ often used by locals to address the Pontypridd YMCA before its closure, with an addition of a smaller ‘a’ becomes YMa, or ‘here’ in Welsh. This name establishes its place here within the community, where it will service everybody, and gives it an important  bilingual quality
