Following Ransack's Director, Sarah working as a practitioner on our dance pathways programme for a number of years, we set up a formal partnership with Ransack Dance Company in 2018. The partnership aims for our organisations to support each other by sharing skills and capacity to grow our dance provision across Rhondda Cynon Taf, to increase quality and reach and engage with more people in our community. We support Ransack by providing in-kind and reduced rate office space and rehearsal studio space for their production rehearsals, and work in partnership to manage and deliver a range of dance projects together, particularly focusing on Ransack supporting our youth dance provision and professional development training provision, within our dance pathways programme.
2023 will see the launch of our new programme of dance provision called the 'Gyda'n Gilydd summer dance programme,' in partnership with Ransack, which will see our partnership projects come together into a full programme of provision, which we aim to deliver annually each summer term. These include our inclusive performing arts summer school 'Ransack Your Stories,' working across dance, music and film, our 'Youth Explore' project which sees Ransack dancers co-create and perform with our youth dancers, 'True Colours Create', in which Ransack dancers co-create and perform with members of our True Colours inclusive dance group, and our 'Explore' training programme including shadowing and mentoring opportunities and 'on the ground' training for ours and Ransack's staff and independent artists from RCT and surrounding areas. We're also excited that 2023 will see Ransack become 'resident dance company' at our new YMa building in Pontypridd, which will host the premiere performance of their 2023/24 National production tour of their show 'Us and Them.'
