This project provides a step-by-step, bespoke co-learning opportunity for pupils, class teacher and Artis community practitioners. The aims of the project explore how, when we consider learning as a whole body creative process rather than a ‘thinking mind’ process, we can support all learners (audio, visual and kinesthetic) to absorb information and understanding. It supports a collaborative learner led exploration, and the teachers to develop their understanding and practical skills in exploring contexts for learning through creative movement and dance. Through weekly sessions we will work to support the school in embedding the understanding of creativity in relation to the Arts Council of Wales / Welsh Government, Lead Creative Schools Scheme - 5 Creative Habits of Mind and the 4 Core Purposes of the New Curriculum.
We are currently working in 2 schools in Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil. If you are interested in the creative learning body project at your school then please contact Linzi Rumph on linzi@artiscommunity.org.uk
