Artis Outdoors

Artis Outdoors is our brand-new programme that takes place in the great outdoors. During the summer of 2021 we got more than a little arty and crafty outside with sell-out sessions for people of all ages to meet new friends, get creative and learn new skills.

This autumn we’re delighted to continue with our Artis Outdoors events with these three fun workshops:

Artis Outdoors – ‘Run, Run as fast as you can!’
Thursday 16 September, 10:30am to 12:00pm

Come and join us on an outdoor adventure! Led by Artis Community staff and guest artists, we welcome you to join us for a socially distanced nurture with nature outdoor session.

This month we’re going for a run! Along the way through the trees we will come across some animals who feature in our story. With storytelling, crafts and some messy baking fun there is plenty to do no matter the weather at this Artis Outdoors Activity aimed at under 4’s and their parents!

The session will start at 10:30am – 12:00pm for children under the age of 4.

To help keep our activity sustainable there is a cost of £2 per adult. (+74p booking fee)

All participants to bring their own blankets, refreshments and toys. Hand sanitizer will be provided on entry and exit of the activity and toilet and hand washing facilities provided in the nearby Lido.

A safety disclaimer and consent from will need to be completed on booking and track and trace details provided.

Activity will take place in the ‘Wild Zone’ fenced off gated area between the bowls pavillion and the cricket pitch.

Artis Outdoors – Walk The Art
Started Monday 4 October, 10:30am to 12:00pm
10 weekly sessions

Come and join us on Mondays throughout Autumn! Celebrate nature and get crafty in the outdoors. Come rain or shine we’ll meet you at the Main Park Gates and take a wander through nature where we will settle down for our workshop in the fresh air! Our walking outdoor art group uses nature as inspiration and the beautiful setting of Ynysangharad park as the backdrop for our workshop. Participants will be provided with all materials and activities will use a variety of art mediums. There’s something for everyone! This fresh and friendly class is open to all ages and abilities and everyone is given a warm welcome by tutor Rhian and the Artis Team. Be inspired by nature this term!

The session will start at 10:30am – 12:00pm in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd. There will be no session on the 25th of Oct!

To help keep our activity sustainable there is a cost of £3 per individual + Booking fee, with blocks of 10 and 5 sessions available to order, as well as limited single sessions available.

Artis Outdoors – Room on the Broom
Friday 22 October, 10:30am to 12:00pm

Come and join us on an outdoor adventure! Led by Artis Community staff and guest artists, we welcome you to join us for a socially distanced nurture with nature outdoor session.

Join us for our Nurture with Nature Artis Outdoors session based in the Wild Zone of Ynysangharad Park. This month we go flying on broomsticks! Calling all little mud monsters to come on an adventure with us! But beware of the fierce dragon hidden in the trees! With storytelling and percussion this Artis Outdoors activity is great fun for the under 4’s. We’ll be getting crafty with clay making our own mud monster, make potions in our cauldrons and have lots of fun in the wild wild woods! Optional fancy dress!

The session will start at 10:30am – 12:00pm for children under the age of 4.

Friday 22nd October.
