Introducing Artis Outdoors!

Artis Community is heading to the great outdoors to get creative!

If there’s one good thing to come out of the pandemic, it’s our appreciation for meeting friends outside. Artis plans to embrace this over the summer with opportunities to explore, play and create in the open air, a place where participants can get creative by observing the natural world that exists right before their eyes.

Our first session on Thursday 15th of July is called Nurture with Nature (Going on A Bug Hunt). Perfect for families with pre-schoolers (aged 4 and under), activities will include clay bug monster creations, giant spider web making and a creepy crawly bug trail around the park.

Project Manager and Company Manager at Artis, Hannah Hitchins said; “Over the last year or so we have offered many arts, crafts, dance and music classes on Zoom but we are desperate to get back to seeing our participants in person. We have a beautiful park here in Pontypridd and Artis Outdoors will enable people to come together in the Wild Zone, a secure space, to get creative and enjoy arts activities face to face in the open air.”

With materials provided and members of the Artis team on hand to lead activities, this fun session will take place in the ‘Wild Zone’ fenced off gated area between the bowls pavilion and the cricket pitch in Pontypridd Park and costs just £2 per family. Places can be booked online via our Eventbrite page here:

All participants are invited to bring their own blankets, refreshments and toys.  Hand sanitizer will be provided on entry and exit of the activity and toilet and hand washing facilities are provided in the nearby Lido.

A safety disclaimer and consent from will need to be completed on booking and track and trace details provided. Once the formalities are all done, it’s time to bring on the creative fun!

ALSO COMING SOON! We will be announcing our Artis Outdoors – Intergenerational Environmental Art Sessions in the coming weeks, which will take place in August. Details will be confirmed soon but watch this space for more information about how you can take part in these nature-inspired outdoor workshops which will include themes of moving from individual consciousness (‘Lockdown Mindset’) to group consciousness (‘Community Connection’).
